teacher/student handouts with notes

Hi.

I would like to produce a document for students which is identical to my
(teacher) copy, but with blank lines in the student copy while I have my
notes in my (teacher) copy. When I use "hide text" it collapses the white
space so the outline doesn't have enough room for students to take notes.
Any suggestions?

Put the hidden text inside a textbox without a border.

Thanks Charles:

I have tried that, and it works, but is kind of "clunky." Is there a more
efficient way of doing it? Is there anyway to use the outlining feature of
Word to accomplish this?

I'm not aware of any better method. You could simply format your student
area to have a large "space before" or "space after," I suppose. However,
your copy would then also have the additional space. Note, use styles for
your formatting. http://addbalance.com/usersguide/styles.htm. You may want
to save a borderless textbox with hidden text for your comments as an
AutoText entry.

Instead of formatting the text as Hidden, format it as Font Color: White. It
will then occupy the same space but will not print.
