TD fails to load .slx file

After making a few changes to my configuration, TD started generating errors at the end of an image build. The error message refers to an internal error, "the parameter is not correct" and a "type mismatch" error came up. I think it has to do with the EWF component I added I think.

After exiting TD and loading some QFE's (Q811279, Q823025 and Q832662) and trying to load the slx file, it first comes up with an info msg "initializing new component: EWF NTLDR - hotfix" and "upgrading from: EWF NTLDR". Then immediately an error window pops up with "Configuration Management (CMI) Error, Code=0x800a000d, Description=type mismatch". and aborts loading the configuration.

Now besides wondering what is wrong, my question is, can I still get my configuration .slx file back to a situation where it loads? because the idea of starting all over again....aaargh

the .slx files are .xml files actually. maybe if you have experience with xml (I don't) you can ascii edit them and find what's wrong

By default, SLX Configuration is saved as binary data (CMI object
serialization) unless you save it as XML in TD.

Avi, if you saved your SLX as binary I guess there is nothing much you can
do to repair your SLX file.
There is some manual repair possible using CMI Explorer or directly by using
CMI object model but still require a lot of time. Perhaps, it will be easier
to start the Configuration from scratch.

Sorry, couldn't help much,

Was afraid of that....thanks anyway

Which does not mean I am in the clear, I tried making a new sample configuration, and the errors keep coming! I dont know what triggered this, but it is not going away by itself.....I wil put it in a new topi
