I have several applications that require my laptop to be
connected to the network. Is there a way to bypass this
function? I would like to run my applications and not
have to be connected to the network? I remember reading
an article how to bypass tcpip autosensing or something
like that but can can find it anymore.
Any hellp will be greatly appreciated

You want to install the "MS Loopback" network adapter
in hardware manager. This will give you a dummy network
connection. You may or may not need to configure the
corresponding connection depending on what your
software wants.
