TCP or UDP port for update signature file

TCP, 80.

However, this may not be the whole story.

Is Autoupdate in any way restricted on your network?

Is there a WSUS server present?

Does WindowsUpdate work? Have you tried it?
 
Strange 80 is allowed, WSUS is deployed and working, but we use a proxy. PC's
who want to use the update site from microsoft are not allowed they should
use the WSUS.
In the firewall logs I do not see any blocking.
 
Must I configure WSUS for this?
