john

my tcp dialup was not working anymore (ethernet was fine) -
ppp 720 issues. so i decided to remove tcp and
reinstall. well, tcp/ip does not reappear as a protocol
when i'm trying to reinstall it. and, of course, i don't
have my win2k installation discs. can anyone tell me the
name and location of the .inf file i need to use to
reinstall?

thanks

You need the Win2k CD my friend as you cannot use the existing file - well
at least, I couldn't find a way.

Regards
Paul.

solution - i uninstalled simple tcp/ip sevices (via
add/remove programs) and reinstall them. that did the
trick - tcp/ip appears, and now works over dialup.

sorry for wasting the newsgroup's time.

hey, look to see if your i386 folder is been copied to your
system,if so thats all you need to install
compononets...its a requirement for me to copy it over to
every system im on...it comes in handy when i dont have
the cd...good luck..
