TCP/IP fails after 1+ hours

System fully functional at boot time.
After a period between one and several hours, all IP
connectivity fails. Wireless connection is still good for
other machines, but not this one.

Refresh of DHCP lease fails - cannot contact the DHCP
server on the router. Other machines can see the router
withotu a problem.

IBM Thinkpad T40 with integrated wireless.
 
Check the power settings for the wireless adapter, make
sure the OS is not allowed to turn it off to save power...
 
No poweroff attribute on the inbuilt wireless adaptor.
Good tip Homer - it sounded like a possiblity, but no.
