Tasks copied from one server to another do not automatically run

Until they have been manually run the first time (sometimes!)

How can we predict this, and how can we fix it?

We are migrating hundreds of tasks from several old servers to several new
ones.

We RDP to the old server, copy a task to a network drive from
C:\Windows\Tasks to a network drive, then RDP to the new server, and copy
down the task from the network drive to C:\Windows\Tasks
1. Sometimes (about 1 in 3 times) Windows Explorer crashes when we paste,
but the Tasks show up anyway
2. After pasting we re-apply the password and the task SEEMS to be ready to
run.
3. Very often it simply does not run that day, nor the next... until we
manually Run it; after that it kicks in normally.
4. When it does not run it just seems that task schedular doesn't recognise
it, there is no status update and the Last run time does not change.

Does anyome else have the same experiences? And a solution would be
wonderful, otherwise we need to wait up at night to monitor them and run them
manually.

We are running XP Pro Version 5.1 SP2

AFAIK tasks are not portable - they include the disk volume
signature in their security details. Making them portable would
be a hacker's dream come true . . . I think you have to open
each and every one of them and re-enter the password.
