Tasks and Appointments Multiply when Synching with PDA

We have Outlook as a part of Office 2003 on my computer at work (we have
Windows XP Professional). When my boss synchs his PDA with Outlook, both the
computer and the PDA end up with multiples of the exact same appointment,
task, and sometimes even contacts and birthdays. We keep deleting the extra
tasks, etc., but every time my boss synchs his PDA again, the tasks are
multiplied again. We usually end up with just two of the same thing, but
sometimes we get three or more. Sometimes old tasks that were marked
complete reappear on the computer. My boss currently has a Palm 680, but we
had the same problem with his old PDA.

Has anyone else had this problem? If you were able to fix it, how did you
do it?

Not an Outlook issue but an issue with your sync software.

For the initial sync I would suggest that you use Outlook as a master copy
and completely empty your mobile device and then force a PC to mobile device
(one-way) sync. Once you have completed this you can configure a two-way
sync in your sync software.
