When i right-click onto the taskbar and choose the toolbar options the
sub-menu is grayed-out. First noticed this problem when Media Player 10
wouldn't go into mini-mode. Tried everything i know (not much) to fix this
but to no avail. Can anyone help?

Thanks for responding so quickly, unfortunately it hasn't fixed it =(
The problem isn't that the options are just grayed-out (Address, Links,
Windows Media Player etc), they are completely disabled via the taskbar.
Only a small problem but annoying like most small problems are!!

Hi Folks,

You guys have been busy. Thanks for the help, the KB does describe my
symptoms precisely but the fixes do not work!! I am using xp pro by the way:
i do not have the classic shell register in the register editor and
disabling it in the group policy editor does not work either.
Any other suggestions bar a re-install =O ??

Another try
