Taskbar Problems Under WinXP SP2

Can anyone tell me how to solve the following problem ?

I installed WinXP SP2 last week, however, strangely since
it was installed, the programs windows have not been
abled to display on the WinXP Taskbar, I can only access
opened programs via TaskManager, and I uninstalled SP2
(As suggested by a MS Technical Support Personnel) and
reinstalled the SP2, however, the problem still remains :
( I supposed I may changed the settings of the taskbar
but I dont know how to switch the setting back .
