I bought a new Vista PC. Everything was working fine, but suddenly i can't
click the taskbar.

The start button still works, but when i try and click anything else i just
get an error beep.

Any sugestions???

Hi Billy D,

Hit ctrl+shift+escape to open the task manager. On the processes tab, locate
explorer.exe. Click on it, then click the button to end the process. This
should kill the explorer shell. Now go to the applications tab, click 'new
task', type explorer.exe and click ok to restart the shell. See if this
resolves the error.

Hey, i managed to solve the problem myself, there was a programme
malfunctioning, which somehow made the taskbar not work. I removed the
software and it's fine now, thanks any way. :)

Hi, I'm having the EXACT same problem as you. I can minimize programs but I
can't bring them back up. I thought my taskbar was locked so I unlocked it
and it still didn't help. When I click on my taskbar, nothing happens. All I
hear is a bell noise. Can anyone help?...

I have the same problem as well and HAD this problem a month ago too. It
seems to occur whenever new Microsoft Office 2007 updates come through from
Windows/Microsoft update. Because our update servers are set to push through
vista updates without testing, this is the second time I have had this
problem. The first time I installed the"Windows6.0-KB932406-x86.msu" HOTFIX.
You download it here
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...F4-C9C1-4119-8B59-18DADC49348A&displaylang=en

However, I have just received new windows updates for Microsoft Office 2007
and rebooted only to find the problem has come back. I attempted to apply the
above HOTFIX again, but the install states that it can no longer be applied.
It may just be a red herring, but Windows Update may play a role in this
problem.
