Taskbar disappears and reappears

The taskbar on my computer disappears and reappears due to a virus, I
presume. I ran a full scan on my computer and took care of a virus it
contracted but the problem still persist. I have run additional scans and
all have turned out virus-free. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Right on both counts! ["Johnny, Tell 'em what they've won!"]

P.S.- You've been a Great help to me in win98 & XP. What does "DTS" stand for?

Auto-hide option is not turned on, I think the problem is more complex. I'll
try and provide more info shortly.

Auto-Hide is what I wager to guess you meant to say. Other than that, more
info needed from the OP.

Right clicking where the taskbar is supposed to be doesn't work either.
Matter of fact, there is no activity after I right click there nor when I
place pointer over the bottom of the screen, where taskbar is supposed to be.
