Taskbar color

I was just at a friend's house helping him with some computer work. He has
visual problems. I noticed his taskbar is a blue color, so it's hard for
him to read the white fonts on it. My taskbar is gray, with black fonts
(easy to read). How can this be changed?

XP comes with three colors - blue, olive, and silver. You can change the
color in your Display applet, Appearance tab, Color Scheme. Or look
into third-party theming applications like the ones from WindowBlinds.
See www.wincustomize.com for those kind of options.

Wow, thanks guys for the speedy replies. I have my own
(Display-Appearance-Color Scheme) set on Windows Classic. I THINK his is
that way also. Would that automatically give a Silver taskbar? I can have
him double check that Color Scheme setting).

The only way to get silver is use the Windows XP theme.
The gray is Windows Classic or Windows Standard color scheme under
Appearance.

I thought what I was calling gray, was what you all were calling silver. In
any case, the gray (with black text) is sure easier to read than what my
friend had - a blue Taskbar and white text. I told him about changing the
Color Scheme and he has changed it (not sure if he's got it gray or silver,
but it's a lot easier for him to read now). Thanks to all who helped!
