Taskbar Buttons

Ever since I got my laptop with Vista the taskbar buttons have been
different. Usually (in all versions of windows) when you open a program or
internet explorere for example they would be listed from left to right in the
taskbar, and be somewhat wide so you could read what they are. With my vista
when you open internet explorer or any programs they start showing up on the
right side of the taskbar, and even with one open aren't wide at all so you
can't read what they are unless you put the cursor over it. Also different
types of programs are on seperate levels (theres a scroll arrow on the very
right that lets you scroll up and down between open taskbar buttons). How do
I make it look like it used to/how other people's vistas look? Thanks.
I've looked through teh taskbar and start menu properties and nothing in
there changes it from how it is.

there is some toolbar that has extended making your taskbar button area
small...

right click on the taskbar area without a button and select unlock..
then you will see some "handles" on the taskbar that you can drag to make
room for the taskbar buttons.

Right click on the Taskbar, deselect Lock the Taskbar, slide your cursor over
the Taskbar until it turns into a double headed arrow, and then drag to the
right.
