Taskbar buttons not appearing

Hello. For some reason, something has happened to make the taskbar buttons
dissappear. It doesn't close the programs, but the fact is, I constantly have
to go through Task Manager if I minimize something by accident, and it gets
on my nerves. Does anyone know how to get them back?

Wow! Thank you for that! Annoying little problem. Is this a legitmate
windows bug, or the side effect of some spyware/virus?
