Taskbar Bubble About Hiding Your Inactive Icons

M

mryter

White Bubble reappears each time I power up to Desktop -
At far lower right on taskbar.
Bubble says:
Hiding Your Inactive Notification Icons.
Duh! I know they're hidden. I chose to do this.
Will bubble eventually quit?

mryter,

I have 2 suggestions. The first one is turn off hiding notification icons.
You can do this by right clicking the taskbar and choosing Properties. At
the bottom of the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties is a checkbox entitled
'Hide inactive icons.' Just unncheck this.

The other suggestion I have may not work. Download the TweakUI Windows XP
Powertoy from
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp. Run
TweakUI, find 'Taskbar and Start menu' in the treeview pane on the left and
left click it. There will now be a checkbox on the right entitled 'Enable
balloon tips.' Uncheck this.

If that doesn't work for you let me know,
Dennis Davis [msft]
