Task Scheduler

I want to setup a program to run at the same time evey day. I used task
scheduler to tell it to run but it will not run because it says I have
to enter a password. I do not have a password on my computer and do not
want to have a password. How can I setup task scheduler to run the
schedule with out a password. Thank you Rob.

I believe a password is required.

You can then setup XP so you do not have to enter the password when you
boot.

1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type control userpasswords2, and then click OK.
3. In the dialog box that appears, clear the Users must enter a user name
and password to use this computer check box, and then click OK.

Of course the downside is that anyone can logon to your account.

I don't think there's a workaround - create a password for your user account
or it won't work.

Look at the auto-logon feature of TweakUI for XP - you can have the task
scheduler working how you want and TweakUI will save you any further hassles
whatsoever.

In the Task Scheduler setup box check the box that says "run only if logged
in". Then it stops nagging you to select a password. I know sounds weird but
it works.
