Task Scheduler

Issue:
Task Scheduler will not launch. Services Control panel
returns Error 1053 when trying to start the service.

system32 contains mstask.exe
I am trying to run this as an administrator.

It seems to me that the Task Scheduler is corrupt.
How can I fix this?
 
Are any dependant services started? RPC? Check Event Viewer for errors.
