Task Scheduler Problems

Got a workstation attached to a DC.
Every 4 or so hours the service "Task Scheduler" would automatically disable
itself.
I would enable it and start it running manually.
I managed to narrow it down if I refreshed the Group Policy the task
scheduler would not only stop but 'disable' itself.
i looked in event viewer and the following happens...

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Userenv
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1085
Date: 14/02/2006
Time: 12:20:16
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Computer: XP019108
Description:
The Group Policy client-side extension Security failed to execute. Please
look for any errors reported earlier by that extension.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Ive trawled the web and can't find a real answer to it, can anyone help?

thanks in advance

It sounds like the task scheduler service is disable via a domain/OU level
Group Policy. You could try running rsop.msc on that computer to see if you
can find which GPO is doing it or run RSOP mmc snapin on a Windows 2003
domain controller for that computer in logging mode [best/actual setting] or
planning mode [what should be]. The userenv error usually indicates however
that Group Policy is not being applied which could be a DNS related problem
but it does not make sense since you say it works if GP is refreshed and
services would be domain/OU and not local Group Policy. --- Steve
