Task Scheduler Error

I just ran Disk Cleanup. I would like to add Disk Clean-up to my Task
Scedule.
I clicked on Add.selected Disk Clean-up from the list, and it said, "access
denied....Try using the Task page browser to locate the applicaton."

I browswed Program Files and couldn't find it.
How can it be on the list and its address not be found?

Thank you for replying tomy post.

I read the article on Clean.mgr and then ran the program from the command
line as explained in the article.

I have no idea why the error mesage appeared. I have Task Scheduler set to
run cleanmgr at 4am. We sall see.

I am having a problem with Task Scheduler. Any ideas why it didn't Wake my
notebook and execute Disk Clean?

No idea, based on the posted info. Will the notebook wakeup to do other
tasks? What symptoms were displayed? Perhaps your BIOS doesn't support
wakeup? Have you tried it with it in Standby? Or in Hibernate? Does it
work if the system is running when it is scheduled to run?

This was my first attempt at performing a wake-up task.

The power scheme was set to Portable/Laptop: Turn off monitor after 1hr.
hard disk never, system standby never; never Hibernate.

I would either try setting the unit to standby and then have a task
scheduled to "Wake the computer up" to do the task a short time later
and then observe what happens. If nothing, then contact the manufacturer
tech support and inquire what may be done to allow the unit to be awoken
by the operating system setting the wake up time.

Unit set to Stand By. How do I Add a " Wake the computer up " to list of
scheduled tasks. I pressed the Add button It said browse to the program
youwant to run. Is there a Wake-up program, or do I need to write a little
script file of some type?

R-Click the task in the Scheduled Tasks window, pick Properties, pick
Settings, and look at the Power management section. Humm, on the Task
tab, I presume you don't have a check in "Run only if logged on".

No, I have checked the option, " Enabled scheduled task runs at specified
time)." However, I did make a change to Password.

I did not have a password setup. I set one up and typed it into the
psasword filed.

So you have logged on to the account using the new Password first, and
then set up the Scheduled task using the same Username and Password combo?

When I created the Entry for Disk Cleanup I was logged on under Kenneth
Cavanaugh,no pasword.

I added a pass word to the User setup,loogged on using the pasword and then
added the password to Properties for Disk Cleanup in Task Scheduler.

What if I configure two other notebooks exactly the same. That would tell us
if its something to do with this notebook.
