My wife's computer had a virus which I removed, but since then she can't get
the task pane in Explore to show. The radio button and text are greyed out in
folder options. I believe I will need to edit the registry but I'm not sure
what or where it needs to be changed. Her computer has Windows XP Home with
Service pack 1 and 2 installed. The virus was a mislead. something or other
which was effectively removed.
Can some one please help?
Thanks,

Ted

Thanks,

Kelly has a tweak that might help:

Line 368. Folder Options/View Empty - Restore Now

There's also a "Restore Defaults" button on that page.

Alas,
The tweaks @ Kelleys didn't do the trick. I tried three of them That is a
great resourse though, thanks for pointing me that way.
There are some other minor issues too, like with my wife's email program.
It's looking like a new install of Windows might have to take place.
Does anyone have anyother ideas that I might try before I do the dirty deed.

Thanks for your prompt answer and that great resourse Elmo.
