W hy does task manager have the option of running with the title bar and menu
bar hidden? What is the point? It just makes it a real pain if you don't know
about double-clicking on the window to get them back.

It occupies less screen space when run with the option of staying on top of
all other windows.

Thats it ? Well I will take your word for it. And thanks for answering

I always figured that it was an option to confuse the user. Because it
certainly does confuse many users. ;-)

You can minimize the Task Manager window when it is in "tiny footprint" mode
and you can't do this when in the regular mode (all tabs showing). About a
half inch by one and a half on my screen.

I still contend that the "tiny footprint" mode is just there to confuse any
user.

I see no need for the window to be as small as possible. You can select the
Hide When Minimized and Always On Top option and still see the Task Manger
icon in the Notification Area. When this combination is selected, right
clicking the Notification Area icon gives an additional choice: Restore.

Hope this helps. Let us know.

I'm with you I see no reason for it. I always run Task manager minimized to
tray.
Where it belongs.

Probably some network administrators (big networks, not little home
networks) use it in that mode to monitor performance or network activity.
Or else it's just one those "geek things" in Windows that hangs around and
nobody remembers why it was a good idea.
