Task Manager

I think I have too many programs running at startup (39)
because my computer is running slow. I don't know what
processes I should end after looking at the list in Task
Manager. How do I learn what all those extensions mean? I
can't seem to find how to link a program name with an
extension so I know it is important.I try using
properties but that doesn't always clear it up for me.

I had that problem too, and I was sent to
www.AnswersThatWork.com. They will give you a list of
task manager processess, and attempt to tell you whether
or not they are needed. I found that most of the junk on
my list was necessary. Now I've got a post because I'm
still sometimes running at 100% CPU usage. Good luck!

Oh I think you have a lot of company out here! I have the
same problem & have had every since the new microsoft
updates started July 2nd. My computer has been garbage
since then. Crashes, out of memory, error messages,slow
start-up, 100% cpu usage. Have even seen where people
have brand new computers less than 2 months old with the
same problem. All different kind of computers too. Have
researched all over the net since then to find an answer
& no one has one. I get the same answers-check the
processes that are running, & I have & I need them all.
Run updated virus protector & I do. Use firewall & I do.
Use adware & trojan hunters & I do. My computer is trash
now & I know it won't be long before this problem is
gonna fry it. Good Luck! Let me know if you get
