Task Manager

I just re-installed Windows XP Pro on my PC. When I hit
ctrl+alt+del it brings up the Task Manager (which is what
I want it to do) but it only stays open for about 2
seconds and closes again. It does the same no matter how
I open it, either thru the Run command or right click on
the Taskbar. Can someone tell me if i've overlooked a
setting to keep it open? I've installed Windows before
and i've never had this problem. Any advice would be
great.

It sounds to me like to need to update your Anti Virus
software and run a complete scan. I think maybe you have a virus.

Sure was. My Norton 2004 AV was up to date but I don't
know how it got thru. I booted to safe mode and ran the
scan and it came up with the virus. Used the instruction
from Symantec's website and got it working ok.

This is the first time since using Norton that i've had
one get thru and i've been using Norton since 2001.
