Task Manager (XP) Processes required

My system runs very slow even with my 512mb memory. I have about 30
processes always running in Task Manager. Can any one tell me what the
minimum required processes are so I can get rid of the rest?

Also, Is there a way at the see prompt or somewhere were I can copy this
info so I can include it in this post?

About 40 or so are running on my system and it's fast, the point being
it doesn't matter how many as much as what and if any are problematic.
See these links for information on startup programs and services:

Probably all of them. In Task Manager's Processes page, take View and
Select columns, to have CPU Usage on view. CPU Time (cumulative) and
Memory usage are also useful. That will then show you which process is
using wasteful amounts of processor time. If it is a basic item like
explorer, services, or svchost (of which last there will be four or five
instances) then suspect some malware around - see advice at
