Task Manager....'winksh'

Problem started a couple of days ago when I kept hearing
my disk drive chattering for hours during no activity. I
originally thought that the indexing service was perfoming
an update.

When I brought up Task Manager it would automatically
close itself after 15-20 seconds. After repeated attempts
I finally detected a process calle 'winksh' that I have
never seen before. Stopping the process solves the
problem with Task Manager closing.

I next went into System Administration to examine the
service. All of the description fields are blank...Also
interesting are the Pause, Start and Stop Fields are
grayed. Luckily, I was able to change the startup from
automatic to manual.

This has solve the very active hard drive during idle
periods, however I can not bring up task manager.

I got some thing very wierd in my system to say the least,
anti-virus did not detect. I haven't been able to track
any reference to winksh on the web.

Any ideas out there.

Thanks
