Why will the task manager not display the user name under
the processes tab?
launch TM, click on Processes tab, View menu, select Columns, select User
Name (and whatever other items you want)
tip.0 - change Update Speed (on view menu) to High, TM gives a more accurate
representation of current activity.
tip.1 - when you've selected all the columns you want displayed under the
Processes tab, double-click the task manager's title bar (goes full screen),
then grab/move/drop the column headers wherever you like, then sequentially
double-click on each of the vertical bars that separate the column headers
(autosizes each column), then double-click on the TM title bar again to
restore down (non-full screen).
tip.2 - Sysinternals has a more comprehensive task manager utility, you can
download it here
http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/procexp.shtml
unzip the files inside and copy into your \bin directory (or equivalent), on
the View menu of Process Explorer, select System Information, which bring up
a graphical representation current system activity, similar to TM, but more
comprehensive. check it out.
