Some time ago, I managed to set the Task Manager Update
Speed to 1 second.

Yesterday, I paused the speed to look at something, then
set it back to Normal. Now it updates at 2 second
intervals and changing the speed to High updates at half-
second intervals. i cannot get back to 1 second.

Oddly, on another User Account on the same PC, the Task
Manager still updates at 1 second intervals.

Can anyone tell me how to set it back to 1 second
intervals for my own User Account.

Many thanks

You can use the system restore to configure your
computer to were you last remember it working properly.
you can get to it by Start/All
Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System restore. and
follow the inst. from there

Kelly,
thanks for the info - I shall investigate the Reg
changes. (and some of the other tweaks on your site)

Perhaps I did not explain myself clearly:
- I can quite happily switch between Normal, High (and
Low and Paused) speeds from the Task manager menus,
- but High is 0.5 second refresh and Normal is 2 second
refresh.

- when I managed (several months ago) to change the
update speed to one second, this was by selecting changes
and choices from the Task Manager menus itself (I did not
go anywhere near the Registry entries).

- May be it is a bug in Task Manager - but I found it
much more useful to be able to see the updates refreshed
every second, as you can see meaningful figures for
network traffic etc.

thanks for your advice
