A friend of mine is missing the "Shutdown" option on the task manager,
toolbar. It only shows... File, Options, View and Help. Is there any way to
add "Shutdown" ?? (It makes it easy to Hibernate.)
Also, is there any way to change what comes up... when you press
Ctrl+Alt+Del ?? My Pc, pops up, Task manager... hers pops up the "Windows
Security" dialog box. We are both running XP PRO, with the same service packs.

NoClose removes access to Stand By, Hibernate, Turn Off, Restart and Log
Off (User Name) from the Shut Down menu in Task Manager, but leaves the
menu.

If XP Pro use Group Policy...

If using Classic Logon the Task Manager will not show the Shut Down menu.

To verify what type of Logon you are using, go to the Control Panel | User
Accounts | Change the way users log on or off. If the Welcome Screen is not
checked then you are using the Classic Logon, there for no Shut down menu
will not be present for the Task Manager.
----

Ctrl + Alt + Delete opens the Windows Security window if the Welcome screen
is turned off.

Turn on the Welcome screen...
1. In Control Panel, click User Accounts.
2. Click Change the way users log on or off.
3. Click to select the Use the welcome screen for fast and easy logon check
box.
4. Click OK.

Thank you Wesley !
It took awhile to find the right cause of my problem... but it's working now
!!!
the tip...
"Using CTRL+ALT+DEL Key Combination to Open Windows Security Opens Task
Manager
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;281980"
got me pointed in the right direction. It turned out that her pc was setup
as belonging to a domain. the Welcome screen was NOT even an option, until I
removed the affiliation.
Thanks again
