Task Manager Problem

Task manager no longer displays an icon near the taskbar clock. I have tried
everything that I can think of doing w/no luck.
Anybody know how to correct this?

Hi,

Right click the taskbar, choose properties. On the taskbar tab, click on
customize, then go into the "past" icons and move the one for Task Manager
out of there.

Thanks for you advice but task manager is not in the past icons or anywhere
.. BTW I never use "hide unused icons".
I close task manager, push ctl+alt+del and the task manager pops up but the
taskbar icon still does not show up.

Are you using Classic Start Menu or theme? This is a known problem with no
solution that I know of. Sometimes the Task Manager icon appears and
sometimes it doesn't.

I permanently added the tm to startup but icon on taskbar is seldom seen.
I searched knowledge base and did not find any info.

Try disabling either or both of these services from Start | Run |
services.msc:
SSDP Discovery Service
Universal Plug and Play Device Host
