Can you start the Task Manager by either of these two commonly used
alternate methods: Start > Run > Taskmgr.exe, or by right-clicking the
Task Bar and selecting Task Manager? If not, or if the Task Manager
opens and closes immediately, check for viruses.

The type of behavior you describe is typical behavior of more than
one virus/worm, the three below being the most common:

W32.Yaha

W32.Spybot.Worm

Because many of the newer viruses and worms, such as the
Spybot mentioned above, can disable antivirus applications whose
definitions aren't kept up-to-date, try using one or more of the free
on-line scanners to double-check your system.

Bruce,
Thanks for the info. I can user start>Run>Taskmgr
or right-click the Task Bar and select Task Manager
without any problems. The only time I am not able to access it is by using
Control+Alt+Delete keys.

Thanks,
Reza
