Task Manager Misreporting CPU 100%

Using WinXPSP2, I noticed today that the CPU is listed at 100% in Task
Manager. Since all seems fine, I double checked with Perfmon, and see that
the CPU really is nomral - idle.

Any explaination or fix for Task Manger's apparent misreporting?

Thank you.

Update Speed had been toggled to "pause" where it stayed even after a
reboot. Odd.

Because I'm always interested in how my system is running I keep taskmrg
running all the time and it appears as an icon in the systray. I've noticed
that at time it will indicate 100% usage but the system is running OK. I've
also opened the TM window and switched between the different views process
and performance and notied that the two are not always in-sync. It seems that
the process view is not updated as quickly as the performance view thus I
just mark it up to the fact that the process view is not updated as often and
will give the wrong measurement sometimes due to this delay. If it was 100%
correct TM would consume the CPU (IMHO).
