Task Manager and Registry just flash open and then close

Task Manager and Registry just flash open and then close
when I try to open them. I can, however, open the registry
with regedit32. Has anyone seen this before?

I've seen this question asked many times before, and I think that the
response is typically links to virus information. So, you may want to
install/run some antivirus software...

I have just encountered the same problem. I have installed
SP4 thinking the new installation would solve the problem
but it didn't. I did not have the problem until I
installed Norton Anti-virus. The next day I had the same
problem as you. Two months ago I uninstalled Norton
because of a repetitive system crash which stopped when I
removed Norton. I reinstalled because of all the warnings
about viruses. I don't know if Norton is the source of the
issue. I uninstalled again and still have no task manager.
