I am running Windows XP Professional and I was infected with a virus and was able to remove it but when I try to open the task manager and regedit, they open for 2 seconds and close without giving a chance to see any info. How can I correct this problem

Tahnks in advance

What Virus?

Some virii will shut down these applets when they detect them open. You may not have
completely cleaned the system.

I have tried have run every possible virus scan, adware, spyhunter programs that are available. I did a stupid mistake and sent the virus to Norton to analyze but I deleted if for Norton report. I even ran pc in safe mode and ran all virus scan availabe and nothing was detected

Thanks for taking the time to help a new user

If you can get on the net, go over to Grisoft.com and
download the free virus cleaner for personnal use. AVG is
an excellent anti-virus sofeware. It can be configured to
run in the background and use little system resources. It
can be updated over the net, usage never runs out and it's
free. Very good reviews by booth ZiffDavis and CNET. Also
get AdAware from LavaSoft.com, free for personnal and
updated over the net. Great Spyware remover. Those two
programs will clean you OS, but won't reset anything, just
be assured that your system will be clean.
