Task Bar not auto-hiding.

I have my taskbar set on auto-hide so that it is hidden and does not
interefere with my view of the whole screen. For some reason, it has quit
auto-hiding. I have searched for help and am finally posing the question
here. Any advice as to how to restore the auto-hide will be considered.

(1) Carefully check the settings: you might have changed one and
forgotten about it.

(2) Taskbar's auto-hide behavior doesn't kick in till a couple of
minutes after I log on. If it's the same for you then just wait.

(3) The taskbar is managed by Explorer, the same program that shows
views of folders. Try closing Explorer in Task Manager,(*) then
(still in Task Manager) running Explorer.exe again. That will force
it to reset its pointers.

(*) There may be multiple occurrences. The taskbar disappears when
you get the right one.
