Task Bar : empty and transparent

At least apparently, the task bar is empty (but still roll-overs show up by
mouse hovering, and right click also shows context menu of different ghost
objects) and transparent (I can perfectly see desktop theme through it).

How can I refresh the task bar without rebooting?
Thanks

Rick

As to transparency, see if this will work :
... click
Open Classic Appearance Properties For More Colour Options> go to Colour
Scheme, choose windows vista basic instead of windows aero, click APPY,
then OK.
Inform me if that helps.

Ok! Meanwhile, I figured out that the problem arises when I switch back from
extended desktop (notebook + monitor) to notebook only.
And it's a sort of refresh problem with aero, I believe now, as you pointed
me out.
In fact, following your procedure to basic (and back to aero), it fixed the
task bar.
Locked or not, what you could see was only a transparent strip (apart from
start button, of course), hiding or not.

I made another trial, and could reproduce problem and solution.
I am running Vista HP SP1, with latest drivers for GMA X3100 (7.14.10.1437)

Thank you very much, I appreciated it.
Cheers,
Ricardo
