Target principal name is incorrect

I had to replace a HP Netserver LH3 motherboard for some reasons. This
server runs Windows 2000 Server and it was the 1st server promoted to
a domain controller. Before the motherboard substitution everything
within the Active Directory structure was fine and now when I try to
click over an AD related icon inside my console i get this message
"Target principal name is incorrect".

Fortunately I have an another server wich was promoted later to a
domain controller that acts (maybe) as a AD replica server. From there
I can still access every object of the AD structure, the DNS on this
server works fine, each user of my network can still authenticate,
group policies on my Citrix server are applied successfully.

After replacing the motherboard the server was able to boot up but I
noticed some differences on the hard drives configuration during POST.
This server mounts a NetRaid controller. When Windows booted up the
1st time I got a message of an installation of new peripherials and it
requested a reboot twice.

Since that moment from this server I wasn't able to browse AD objects
anymore. There is any relation btw the hard drive configuration and
the AD structure?

Thank you,

Alessandro

Alessandro,

I am not sure if changing the hard drive causes this error. However, I
would recommend you to visit the link given below that has the resolution
for this issue:

I was trying to do what described in this article:

1. Click Start, point to Programs, click Administrative Tools, and
then click Services.

2. Double-click KDC, set the startup type to Disabled, and then
restart the computer.

When I restart the computer, it cannot reach the logon screen it's
stuck on "Preparing network settings..." and i only can reset the
computer.

Thanks,
Alessandro
