I noticed in the Target Designer that there are so many page faults that it is insane which means it is defraging memory so much. I can't wait until they fix this.
You probably have little memory like 1GB or less. Also you are probably using database on your development machine, right?
Fix at least one of those two things, and your build performance will rise.

Well, you'll have to wait until Longhorn Embedded - there are no XPE
tools changes planned. Slobodan's suggestions are the best way to
improve performance - increase memory on the dev machine, and split the
tools from the database.
