Tapping the trackpad stopped working

Hi,

I'm running Windows XP Professional with all the current updates on an
Averatec 2260-EK1 laptop. I have had it for a few months now and
everything has been working fine, but today when I turned it on,
tapping the trackpad no longer registered as a mouse click. I can't
think of anything that would have caused this to happen. I didn't
change any settings or install anything. Any ideas?

What touchpad is this?
You might want to reinstall the drivers for the touchpad or contact the manufacturer for support.
