Had major problems with xp pro so I did a clean install
of xp home on my second hardrive, then deleted xp pro. No
problems there but now some of my personal files I cant
access. They show up in green. I have tried to take
ownership as per ms, but it I still dont have access. It
is only some files and they are .exe, .exel etc all
differant types. Most other personl files I can acess, I
have admin clearance. Any help is appreciated.

Green indicates that the files are encrypted. Unless you backed up the
keys, they are probably not recoverable. You need to be careful with the
encryption feature of XP Pro. I've also lost some files because of this,
luckily they weren't that critical.

Have a look here:

If they are encrypted then you are in a pickle now
as Home does not support EFS encryption.
If the files are important, and you have NTbackup
on your Home edition CD, then you could use this
to capture a copy of the files as they are now.
This will only be useful if there is a chance that
you can access the old Pro install somehow and
are able to get the profile of the encrypting account
(and know its password), or restore the old Pro
to bootability.
