Usually, I check for a top-level Program Files folder for the App.
If found, I'll usually delete it unless I intend to re-install the
Application.
Then I'll remove the parent Software keys from the appropriate
Registry Hives. This however probably leaves some Class Identifiers
and perhaps a file association. Sometimes I go as far as to search
for the Application name/company in the Registry using "Find".
Be warned that manually changing Registry keys can cause the
application install to fail if you attempt to re-install - Especially any
Norton branded software.
Then check for any content in the "Common Files" folder and
finally a customization folder in my profile's Application Data folder.
Really it just depends on how well the uninstaller cleans up after
itself. Some programs do an excellent job - others leave lots of
remnants behind (AOL, Symantec, Roxio....)
Cleaning up after Application uninstalls isn't recommended as it's
a meticulous, detailed operation.
| Thanks R. .... since I'm kinda a novice, think I better leave things alone

You'd be wise to do just that, unless you're having a specific problem that
you think might be related to incomplete uninstalls, and those problems are
rare.
| Your definition of trash ?

Yeah ... I hear ya Ray. Not having any major problems .... just noticed old
program files being scanned by Avast. So as long as those files are not doing
any harm, I will leave things as they are. Thanks .....
