Tabs within a Word 2003 Form

I created a form using a table for formatting. Users who are filling in the
text fields need to be able to use Tabs to format their content, but when
they press the tab key, the form jumps to a new cell in the form's table. Is
there any way to allow for tabbing within a text field? Can the tab function
that jumps from cell to cell in the form's table be removed?

Ctrl-Tab will allow a user to insert a tab in a table cell.
