Tables/Datasheet not normal color

J

Joe

I don't know why, but since 2 days ago any database I open or try to create
new, when going into a table, all the cells are gray and not white. I have
gone into Access Options and the gridline colors are black, background is
white, alt. background is no color and font is black. I have looked endlessly
for an answer, but can't seem to find an answer.
Has this happened to anyone before or anyone know a solution to this
problem? Even in completed applications the datasheets come up with a gray
background instead of white.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi Joe,

In the Access Options, go to the Datasheet section and make sure the
"Default cell effect" is set to Flat. You may also want to check the "Color
scheme" in the Popular section.

Hi Joe,

One more thing. After making the change(s), close out of Access and
then start it up again.

Clifford,

Thank you so much for that...it was in fact the "not being Flat" option that
was causing the problem. Hope that I could help in some way, some day. Many
thanks again.

Hi Joe,

You are welcome! Do feel free to pitch in when you see a question from
someone to which you know the answer. Sometimes it is the case that I see a
question to which I do not know the answer but my interest is raised enough
to try to figure it out. That often leads to new ideas of things to do and
how to do them for my own database systems.

I will add where I can. You're right about sparking new ideas, I find myself
doing the same thing on some of the questions I have come across. Just trying
to see if it "can be done" type of thing. Again, many thanks...I can't
believe it was something that simple that didn't even come to me. But then
again, that's why they say a second pair of eyes looking, or in this case
many different eyes..can help figure things out. I am so thankful for forums
like these...most of which I belong to and try to check in every day to see
what is happening.
