tables and autofit

How do I set up a table so that other columns of a table will not expand to
the size of the longest column when autofit to contents is selected? When I
try to resize one cell, it won't resize?

You can't with the "main" table as it will expand in "length" to accommodate the largest object,
which makes the other columns do the same.

You can however add additional cells to the other columns and then the cells can have their own
individual "length."

No possible. Columns will always be the same length as other columns, cells will always be the same
height as other cells in a row.
