Optical illusion. Put a scale up to your screen and measure. :-)

At least they are the same on my monitor

They look fine to me, too. I also opened the page in FP, and couldn't find
any problems.

OH, I thought it was wider too. Then I looked at the code, THEN is when I got
out the scale and measured!!

Tom J

I used calipers and found sizes to be 189, 185, 183, 181, even though 187
was specified in the code. Perhaps he could try a 100% table with four 25%
columns?

Use the tables button-tool bar to space the columns evenly - the icon *should* be
12 buttons from the left, if you have the *same* table toolbar as me, provided
you haven't customised it. otherwise go view > tables > customise, and add that
button/tool to the toolbar.

In Html Table/Cell sizes are Minimums
- the cells Will expand to fit unwrappable content
- try putting in a long test string in a fixed width cell like:
_English_and_Spanish_website_translation_services_in_a_whole_new_way!

Tom,

If you or anyone else here is interested, I've been using a neat on-screen
ruler for several years and am delighted to report that it works well with
XP Pro. There is no installation involved - just copy the needed files to a
folder and start it up.

You can drag it, stretch it, make it vertical or horizontal, set it to
inches, mm, or pixels, etc.

It is freeware called Code-V Ruler from VWV Interactive. I have had it since
it was written in 1997. I have not attempted to find it on their current
website (www.vmv.com ) because I don't wish to wade through that much
Flash.

The zip file is only 150 kb and I'll be happy to e-mail it to anyone who
wishes to have it.

Regards,
George Starcher

George, send it to me. The email address is good. Just put "RULER" in the
subject line.
Thanks,
Tom J

another good one is ScreenCalipers
