Table of contents

Hi everyone.. I really need help on Word 2003 table of contents. How can I specify where I want Page 1 to start? because the pages I want to include before page one, I want them in Roman Numerals, for stuff like acknowledgements etc and I want page 1 to start at the 1st chapter. I hope I explained it ok.. please help me out. Thank you.
 
For your situation, you should use a Section Break Next Page to separate the
front matter from Chapter 1.

To get the page numbering to start with 1 in Chapter 1, click on the Format
Page Number button on the Headers and Footers toolbar and check the Start at
button and enter 1 if necessary in the Footer for Chapter 1. It will be
necessary to have unlinked that Footer from the previous one.

If you go to the Footer in the previous section, you can use the Format Page
Number dialog to format the page numbers in that section to be displayed in
Roman Numerals.
