Is it design worthy to have field type attachment for contacts picture and a
2nd field type attachment for Doc, PDF files and can internet likes b placed
in the attachments.

I would not recommend storing external files in a database. In Access 2003 and
older versions, I'd argue VERY strongly against doing so - Access handles
image data in particular very inefficiently. A2007 does it better and you
could store a modest number of reasonable images.

But in either case, such files tend to be large, and they will quickly eat up
the 2 GByte limit on the size of any version Access database. Unless you have
just a few, you'll be better off storing the files externally and storing a
hyperlink to the files in your database.

I am using access 2007 if this database should go over the 2 gig size what
will happen and what will I need to do to continue using the dadabase design.

The database will cease to operate and you will need to revert to a backup
version. You may be able to use a "split" database with some tables in one
database and other tables in a second one, perhaps with a third database as a
frontend.
