Thanks for the links, guys. I guess I made a mistake with my original
request for a small tabbed editor. What I *really* need is a small text
editor that opens multiple text files with tabs, so I can easily switch from
one file to another. I know of EditPad lite and the others, but I am looking
for a really neat little notepad replacement as an alternative.

This one doesn't specify which Win versions, but it is a very fine
editor that Bob Adkins found. It also does not have tabs, but
File/Recent Files pops up any document you have been working with, and
is essentially the same as tabs.

I use notespad.exe which is a freeware notepad replacement and
will edit files much larger than notepad can handle.

And that loads no slower than EDXOR, which is my preferred Notepad
replacement atm. Not tabbed, though. But F6 toggles between open EDXOR
windows.

I assume tabbing adds to load time...

That works fine with Win95, Win98 and 98SE. And, it works quite
well with WinXP home. Try it.

I'd back that up, works just as it say's on the tin..just what you asked for
anyway, about 10 tabs of open or recent docs at top to be clicked to as

The more I look at Crimson Editor, the more I like it--I think it can
class itself as a notepad replacement as its only <700kb. And its ftp
works like a charm.
