Tabbed Form / Number of Tabs per row

T

Tony

Hi All,

In Acc2K, is there a way to control how many tabs are on each line in a
multi-row tabbed form? I've got 14 tabs, 9 of which show up on the second
row with the balance on the first row. I'd like to rearrange this such that
there are 7 per row.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks & Ciao

I believe all you can do is to adjust the width of the tab control, and/or of
the tabs themselves so that in the end, you'll have an even 7/7 split.

Niniel,

Thanks for the response - good suggestions and ones I considered. However,
each tab has a subform which needs to be a specific width. If I resize the
tab control I won't have enough room to properly display the subforms.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Sorry, I guess I wasn't very clear - adjusting the width of the tab control
sets the width of the tab pages, so if you need a certain minimum size, you
obviously can't do that.
However, when I spoke of adjusting the width of the tabs I did not mean the
tab pages, but just the tabs you click on.
Their width can be adjusted as well, by going to your tab control property
sheet [the one where you set it to multi-row] and putting a value into a
field called "Tab Fixed Width". This will cheat Access' automatic tab
handling which will try to fill the first row first before putting any tabs
that didn't fit onto the next row. But if the tabs are just the right width,
Access has no choice but to split them the way you want. :)

Ah, now I see. I'll give that a shot and post back as to whether or not it
worked.

Thanks for the assistance.

Gave it a shot and it worked, for the most part. Something I've always
noticed in Access is tripping me up. Even though I can set measurements to
4 decimal places, it doesn't always respect that and plops in something
close. Not sure why that is, but it ends up leaving just a tad of space
unused in each row. Not a big deal, but it's a bit annoying.

I'll keep tweaking and see if I can make it 'just right'. Thanks again for
the suggestion; this is the first time I've worked with tabbed forms and am
learning a lot. I appreciate the help.
