Tab Stops & User Logins

Hi All,

I have an access form that behaves differently between user logins on the
same database. For an example, say a form has multiple lines of data
displayed from a table. When one user is logged in, if he presses the TAB
button, it tabs across the columns of data. If another user is logged in,
it tabs down the rows of data.

For this instance we want all users to tab down the rows of data.

It doesn't make sense to me why this is happening. It is the same database,
so it makes me think a user setting is different. It is a very simple
Access 97 database running in Access 2000.

Thanks
Chad

Thanks Gina,

The users are using the same database. It is just an access DB. How would
I find out about the locked/unlocked fields. What/Where would I look to
find out.

Chad,

First, if they are all using the same database then you are setting yourself
up for corruption of data and/or the database. Are you using Access
security or some other type of log-on. You can test for locked/unlocked
fields by opening the database and seeing if you can click in those fields.

Thanks Gina,

Looking deeper into the problem I am realizing that I hate being the middle
person.

There are only 2 users that use the database. 1 is day shift & 1 is night
shift. I know other Access Users on this forum have cringed at my
description of this database. But it works, and until someone destroys the
database I am sure it will stay this way. There is talk of switching to a
SQL database with a Acess front end, but for now, it is not going to happen.

Here is more info on the problem.

User A: Presses the TAB button to go across the fields & Presses ENTER to go
down the fields
User B: Presses the TAB button to go across the fields & Presses ENTER to go
across the fields.

I want User B to press the ENTER key and go down the fields.

Thanks Gina,

I just realized that there is an option in Tools->Options->Keyboard Tab that
allows me to select which method I want.

Thanks Again,
Chad
